Japanese-Inspired Fresh Fish Bowl
A simple Japanese-style bowl with fresh fish, rice, and crisp vegetables.
🥘 Ingredients
- 2 very fresh white fish fillets (cod or hake)
- 2 cups sushi rice or short grain rice
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 cup edamame (if tolerated)
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- Fresh ginger, grated
- Sea salt
- Fresh nori sheets, cut into strips (optional)
👨🍳 Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions
- Season fish with salt
- Heat coconut oil in pan
- Cook fish for 3-4 minutes per side until flaky
- Prepare vegetables while fish cooks
- Divide rice between 2 bowls
- Top with cooked fish, cucumber, carrot, and edamame
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and fresh ginger
- Add nori strips if using
- Serve immediately

Use only extremely fresh fish (never frozen, never previously stored). If uncertain about fish freshness, use fresh chicken instead.
